PROJECT

Global Türkiye

Türkiye’s foreign policy has considerably evolved over the last two decades, with Ankara implementing a more multi-vector foreign policy. While Türkiye continues to have crucial economic, political, and military ties with the EU and the US, it has adopted a more autonomous and sometimes unpredictable foreign policy with aspirations to become a major regional and global actor.

The EPC’s Global Türkiye Project focuses on the trends, priorities, and goals of Turkiye’s foreign policy. It dissects Türkiye’s relations with Ankara’s traditional allies and partners (NATO, the EU, and the United States) as well as assessing the drivers and aims of its policy towards other actors and regions, including Russia, China, Africa, and the Far East, as well as its evolving influence in its neighbourhood and the broader Eurasia region. Finally, it will track developments in Turkiye’s growing defence sector.

This project is led by EPC Senior Analyst Amanda Paul (a.paul@epc.eu).
