The European Policy Centre (EPC) is a leading independent, not-for-profit think tank with expertise in a broad range of policy issues. EPC analysts provide EU policy advice, analysis and recommendations, manage projects and contribute to the EPC’s thought leadership in the programme topics.
Due to an expansion in our programmes and funding, we are creating an open call for Analysts to work at the mid- and senior levels of our think tank (Policy Analyst/Senior Policy Analyst). These assignments are on a consultancy basis, with fees offered at local market rates.

Core competences for all EPC analysts:
· Strong interest in European affairs and commitment to European integration
· University degree in the subject relevant to the programme
· Demonstrated ability to conduct research, write and present high-quality policy analysis
· Competences in data handling, analysis, and visualisation
· A high level of familiarity with AI tools and applications would be a plus
· Experience in fundraising and successfully managing complex projects
· Thorough understanding of EU institutions and familiarity with past and current developments in relevant EU policy areas
· Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills are a must
· Knowledge of research and statistical methods is a plus
· Ability to engage and network with experts and stakeholders
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
· Dynamic, flexible, reliable and detail-oriented
· Fluent in English, fluency in at least one other major European language is desirable
Main duties:
· Developing and implementing the EPC’s activities relevant to the needs of the Programme and the candidate’s own research interests
· Conducting research and writing policy analyses
· Managing ongoing projects and identifying opportunities for future initiatives, including producing new ideas and taking initiative on projects and activities, as well as contributing to the organisation of the Programme work plan.
· Overseeing, organising and moderating events, including drafting event proposals, invitations and programmes, identifying and contacting speakers
· Liaising with EPC members, external experts and stakeholders, as well as building and maintaining a network
· Supporting and leading fundraising activities for the Programme in the relevant policy areas

Policy Analyst Specifications
In addition to the above, candidates for Policy Analyst positions should have:
· Creative ideas for achieving political impact and ambition
· A minimum of three years working experience (including internships, and one year in a non-internship/trainee position) in a similar research based or policy environment.
· Some fundraising experience and strong project management skills.
· Experience of mentoring interns and working in teams
Senior Policy Analyst Specifications
Candidates for Senior Policy Analyst positions should have a minimum of five years working experience in think tanks, research or policy environment. In addition, we are looking for:
· Thought leaders with ambition and drive to have a political impact
· Fundraising and project management skills
· Budding people managers with an interest in developing as team leaders
· External representation experience to be able to be the face of EPC at conferences and support the Head of Programme in this way as needed
· SPAs join the Senior Team at the EPC and are required to actively contribute to cross-cutting initiatives such as the Annual Conference, Task Groups and Task Forces and organisational development
