Whilst the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agreed in September 2015, apply to all signatories, their implementation within the EU has received little attention. The goal on health and well-being contains challenging and relevant targets for the EU. However, there has been little discussion about the implications for European health systems. This CHES Policy Dialogue sought to address this, and answer the following questions: What does the SDG on health consist of, why do the targets matter for Europe and what are the implications for the EU and its member states? Which targets should be priorities for action and what is the EU doing to meet these targets?
Speakers included: Annika Hedberg, Senior Policy Analyst, European Policy Centre; Bettina Menne, Coordinator, Health and Development, WHO Regional Office for Europe; Nicola Bedlington, Secretary General, European Patients' Forum
