Head of Communications and Events
Are you a committed communications professional with a flair for team management and getting the best out of people? Are you keen on developing and driving a communications strategy aimed to enhance impact? The European Policy Centre is looking to recruit an individual who fulfills this criteria or is ambitious to develop in this direction.
We seek to be as inclusive as possible in how wide we cast the net for this recruitment with a firm eye on increasing the diversity of our team. The final level of seniority, consultancy fee and responsibility will depend on the candidates’ profile and experience.
At a minimum, the successful candidate will have the skills and experience to manage the Communications and Events team to ensure that:
- The EPC’s output has maximum impact
- The EPC website and social media channels are managed professionally
- The EPC’s publications, podcasts and audio-visual products are of top quality
- The EPC’s events are planned and communicated professionally to enhance the EPC’s overall strategic goals and messages
- The Communications and Events Team is fully included in the EPC’s organisational development and grounded in the values of the organisation
- A project management approach is taken to work across the team, including procurement
- That the Media Officer builds and deepen relationships with journalists in Brussels and, potentially, in the EU member states
- The Communications and Events team works with all EPC programmes to enhance our communications
More senior applicants must be able to fulfil all of the above in the role and will be asked to advise the EPC senior management on the organisation’s communication strategy (Manager level applicants will be supported to grow into this part of the role).
Person specifications:
- Manager entry range level: 5 to 7 years of proven management and communications experience
- Senior/Director entry range level: 7 + years of proven management and communications experience with evidence of leadership roles
- Team player who is diligent and organised with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- In tune with the news cycle of today’s media environment, including online and social media platforms
- Interested in EU affairs and committed to European integration
- Experienced in think tanks and/or not-for-profit organisations is an asset but candidates from corporate or public sectors are also encouraged to apply
- Proficient in written and spoken English; knowledge of French, Dutch or German also useful
