OPERATIONS ASSISTANT 





This is an opportunity to work in the operations team that ensures the European Policy Centre (EPC) runs efficiently and is a great place to work. The EPC is a not-for-profit, independent think tank that works on many different policy areas with the ultimate goal of supporting European integration. This position is not for political science or EU policy graduates, but for someone who would like to develop their organisational management skill set. An interest in EU policy would be useful, but is not essential.  

We are looking for a dedicated Operations Assistant who has one to two years of experience in a similar role(s) with an interest in expanding in the area of organisation management and development. This is an opportunity to learn from the EPC COO and CFO who have at least 20 years of experience in similar roles, and the EPC team of project managers, communications, and events practitioners. 


Reception, IT Support, Office Maintenance

  • Office maintenance and keeping an overview of the office set up, ensuring all common areas are tidy and attractive, monitoring and ordering office supplies, and equipment maintenance (via the providers).
  • Welcoming and accommodating visitors for meetings.
  • IT support: helping EPC team with computer-related issues, and liaising with the IT maintenance provider.
  • Setting up regular meeting calls, taking minutes in selected team meetings.
  • Ad hoc tasks for the Operations Team.

Organisational Development Support

  • Work closely with the COO on people management and culture including contract management, well-being, organisational resilience, and implementing the Organisational Development Plan.

Skills and competences

  • Problem solver with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Shared values especially on gender equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Organised, punctual with good time management and communication skills.
  • Competent English speaker, good French or Dutch an asset.
  • Good team player who can fit into a multinational team.
  • Higher education diploma (IT/technical/administrative subjects).
