Maxime Sierro
Programme Assistant
Maxime Sierro is Programme Assistant in the Europe in the World Programme at the European Policy Centre. Before joining the EPC, he worked as a junior researcher at the Swiss Embassy in Italy, where he worked extensively on Italian foreign policy and broader Mediterranean issues. Prior to that, he worked as a trainee for the Security and Defence Programme at the Brussels office of the German Marshall Fund of United States.

Maxime is a reserve officer of the Swiss army and was deployed for one tour to Kosovo as a staff officer of the Swiss contingent of the KFOR.

He holds an MA in Global Peace, Security and Strategic Studies, cum laude, from Vesalius College (now the Brussels school of Governance). His thesis focused on Russian foreign policy and its relations to China in the Central Asian region. It was called: “Russian Foreign Policy , China and Central Asia - Chinese Influence in the Russian Central Asian Foreign Policy
