Aras Örgen
Project Manager
Aras Örgen is a Project Manager at the European Policy Centre.
Prior to joining the EPC, Aras accumulated a diverse array of experiences within various human rights organisations, serving in roles such as Project Assistant, Consultant, and Programme Coordinator. Aras's professional journey predominantly revolved around championing gender equality, advocating for LGBTIQ+ rights, and addressing migration-related issues. They actively engaged with these themes in the context of human rights, contributing to projects and exchanges in Turkey, Germany, and Italy. Notably, Aras conducted valuable research on the plight of LGBTIQ+ youth and sex workers during the pandemic in Turkey. Most recently, they played a pivotal role in developing, designing, and executing a well-being programme for at-risk LGBTI+ human rights defenders in Turkey, along with advocating for gender equality on the global stage. Aras also lends their expertise as a consultant, focusing on enhancing organisational resilience and well-being for civil society organisations.
Aras holds a BA in Social Work from Hacettepe University and is currently in the process of completing their MA in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance at the University of Padua.
