Serbia began EU accession negotiations a decade ago. Since 2013, 22 chapters have been opened, with two provisionally closed. Serbia is well aligned with the EU in economic terms and has declared its readiness to open negotiations for Cluster 3 on Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth, in line with the European Commission’s recommendation. But where does the country stand with regard to the political criteria for EU membership? What are the main obstacles on Serbia’s EU track, and how does Belgrade plan to overcome them? How can the EU help Serbia advance its membership bid?
This in-person Breakfast Briefing with the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić will discuss Serbia’s EU integration efforts, key reform priorities and prospects for accession.
Participation is open to EPC members only, the media, and EU officials
