The European Policy Centre is pleased to invite you to an in-person high-level Policy Dialogue with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell.
Drawing from his latest book, “The year that war returned to Europe. EU foreign policy in 2022”, Mr Borrell will reflect on the achievements and challenges of EU foreign policy in the current geopolitical context – including the EU's reaction to and the consequences of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, the effectiveness of EU sanctions, the EU's response to Russia's weaponisation of energy, and recent developments in EU security and defence.
During the panel discussion, speakers will debate how the EU can uphold international law and revitalise the multilateral framework with transatlantic allies and other global partners to ensure cooperation on key global issues. Panellists will also consider how to reinforce the EU’s engagement with Africa, the Indo-Pacific and Latin America.
Participation is open to EPC members, the media and EU officials.
