The EPC is looking for a Junior Policy Analyst or Policy Analyst (depending on experience) to join its European Migration and Diversity programme to work on topics related primarily to labour migration and mobility, integration and inclusion, and demography.
The successful candidate will have a solid academic background and a good understanding of EU institutions and EU policy developments and an interest in engaging in and developing cross-sectoral and cross-disciplinary activities. Contracts are offered on a consultancy basis at local market rates.
The candidate should have the following profile:
- Post-graduate degree in political or social science, international relations, law or public policy, or a related field
- At least one year or more of relevant work experience (other than internships)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research, write and present high quality policy analysis
- Strong interest in European affairs in general and up-to-date knowledge of EU policies relating to migration and skills, labour migration and mobility, integration and inclusion, and demography as well as of broader EU migration and asylum frameworks
- Ability to identify key links between different policy areas with a proactive attitude towards shaping and broadening the activities of the programme
- Experience with project management, experience with Horizon projects would be an asset
- Excellent communication and English language skills (oral and written; additional language skills would be a plus)
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Quantitative skills would be an asset
The main duties foreseen are:
- Managing and implementing projects related to the intersection between migration and skills, labour migration and mobility, integration and inclusion, and demography, with the responsibility of further developing the programme’s work in related areas
- Conducting research and writing policy analyses
- Organising, overseeing and moderating events
- Support with identifying opportunities for future initiatives, including producing new ideas, fundraising and taking initiative on projects and activities
