Dr Dániel Csörgő is a visa expert, Hungarian lawyer by education and former diplomat. He has been working for 25 years on issues related to visa policy, consular matters, migration and border management.  Throughout the years, he developed an in-depth knowledge of the Schengen area and also of the functioning and the institutional framework of the EU. He held different positions in his national foreign service, the Secretariat General of the Council of the EU and served 12 years in DG HOME of the European Commission.  Most recently, he was a Commission lead expert, inspecting Schengen consulates across the globe. He maintains a strong personal network of professionals and decision-makers both in Brussels, national capitals and many consulates worldwide. He became an EPC academic fellow in October 2026.
