Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) project

Project

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) will become the world’s largest free trade pact, if it is concluded successfully. The size of the transatlantic economy combined with a global context marked by interdependence indicates that the TTIP will not only have an important spill-over effect on third countries, but will also have an impact on trade multilateralism.

In this context, the EPC's TTIP project will, through a series of events, analyse the impact of the Partnership on third countries and evaluate its chances of providing a new basis for a multilateral trade system as the Doha Round has reached a stalemate. The project aims to ensure that the voices of third countries are heard and that the potential repercussions on their economies are adequately addressed during the negotiation process. The project will consist of workshops with selected experts and public events with high-level speakers. It will shadow the negotiations and run until the conclusion of an agreement between the transatlantic partners.
