At a time of intensifying geopolitical competition, persistent conflicts and growing uncertainty, Türkiye is adapting its foreign policy to a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape, recalibrating its priorities and partnerships in response to shifting regional and global dynamics. This policy briefing will explore Ankara’s evolving regional and global role, the future of EU–Türkiye relations and Türkiye’s potential place in the future European security architecture, including the scope for closer cooperation on security, defence and resilience. It will also consider how Türkiye is navigating relations with its western allies and other major powers, and what its choices mean for Europe’s wider neighbourhood.
