EVENT
The European Policy Centre is delighted to invite you to this online Policy Dialogue, organised by the EPC’s Sustainable Prosperity for Europe programme in partnership with the UK Mission to the European Union.
Despite the significant dependence of European economies and societies on ecosystem services, global biodiversity has declined by around 70% since 1970. The nature agenda faces a much more challenging economic and political context and risks losing momentum. Its limited prominence in the European Commission’s latest Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) proposal highlights the pressure on nature finance. While the publication of the Nature Credits Roadmap in July 2025 signalled the EU’s intention to mobilise new sources of nature-positive financing, specific pathways to scale investment have yet to emerge.
This Policy Dialogue will explore how the EU can catalyse investment in nature-positive action and strengthen the business case for biodiversity. It will assess current policy initiatives, identify regulatory and financial barriers, and explore opportunities to better align economic, financial and governance systems with the protection and restoration of healthy ecosystems.
Participation is open to EPC members, media, and EU officials.
