EVENT
As enlargement re-emerges as a strategic imperative in an increasingly volatile geopolitical context, the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU takes the helm at a critical juncture. The EU’s promise to enlarge and its geopolitical responsibilities must now be matched by its readiness to reform.
Against this backdrop, this Policy Dialogue will explore how Copenhagen and Brussels can work hand in hand to shape a credible, strategic and reform-oriented enlargement agenda that strengthens the Union’s global standing and internal cohesion.
How can the Danish Presidency advance a more coherent approach to enlargement? What reforms are needed to ensure that a wider Union remains effective, cohesive and geopolitically relevant? And how can the EU turn its strategic ambition into tangible progress on the ground?
By linking Brussels and Copenhagen perspectives through Project Presidency, this event – taking place one week ahead of the European Commission’s Enlargement Forum – will provide a timely and forward-looking platform to debate the future of EU enlargement and to lay the groundwork for a Union that is both wider and stronger in the years ahead.
Participation is open to EPC and Think Tank Europa members, the media, and EU officials.
