EVENT
The European Policy Centre was pleased to invite participants to an in-person Policy Briefing on Wednesday, 26 March 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30, dedicated to the presentation and launch of the European Commission’s Intergenerational Fairness Strategy.
As the European Union faced increasingly complex long-term challenges – from climate and demographic change to social cohesion and fiscal sustainability pressures – the need to embed an intergenerational perspective into policymaking had become urgent. The Strategy responded to this challenge at a pivotal moment, setting out guiding principles to shape decisions across EU institutions and policy areas, while also providing a reference framework for local, regional and national authorities.
The event opened with a keynote speech by Glenn Micallef, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, who presented the Strategy and its objectives. The keynote was followed by a fireside chat with EPC moderators and a Q&A session with the audience.
This event welcomed the participation of EPC member organisations, EU institutions and media.
