On 29 April 2017, the EU 27 met without the UK at a special European Council Summit in Brussels to adopt the guidelines for the Brexit negotiations. These guidelines will define the framework for the negotiations and set out the overall EU positions and principles during negotiations. This Post-Summit Briefing, featuring John Kerr, the former UK Ambassador to the EU and Fabian Zuleeg, Chief Executive of the European Policy Centre (EPC) sought to evaluate the outcome of the Special European Council on Brexit, analyse the guidelines and gauge the UK's response and possible next steps.
