Task Force Meeting
Towards a knowledge driven re-industrialisation: what impact on skills and human capital?

EVENT
Wednesday, 13 November 2013

At a time of industrial restructuring and fierce global competition, European industries are undergoing profound changes which lead to job destruction and job creation. Given the speed of such a process and the consequences it might trigger in terms of human capital, it is of utmost importance to better anticipate what skills and competences will be needed in the near future. This meeting discussed what are Europe's future skills needs and reflected on the extent to which stronger cooperation between the education system, research institutes, industries and employment agencies could better respond to these needs. Speakers included: Klavdija Cernilogar, Policy Assistant to the Deputy Director General, DG Education and Culture; Kim Møller, Chairman of the Board at Oxford Research; Wolfgang Müller, Director at the German Public Employment Agency; and Ben Butters, EU Affairs Director at Eurochambres.
