This online Policy Dialogue, kindly supported by the United States Mission to the EU, explored the state of play on the development and deployment of onshore and offshore wind across the Atlantic, the lessons learned so far, as well as areas where cooperation between the EU and the U.S. could be beneficial for both. In the light of the fight against climate change and the 2030 emissions target, wind as a renewable energy source has been gaining traction in both the EU and US. Wind generation has become the top renewable energy source for electricity generation in the US over the last year. This event offered a timely opportunity for policy makers and the industry on both sides of the Atlantic to take stock of their plans in this area, highlight some of the challenges, for example, the need for investment in order to scale up production and increase capacity to be able to reach climate targets. The COVID-19 epidemic had had an impact on the entire energy supply chain. The COVID-19 epidemic has had an impact on the entire energy supply chain. While expectations for significant growth are down, solar and wind have proven to be fairly resilient.
