Single European Labour Market

Completing the Single European Labour Market, based on EU mobility and openness to the rest of the world, could respond both to the needs of companies and EU workers, and help to stabilise macroeconomic variations. It should be one of the key drivers to fulfil the ambitions of the Europe 2020 strategy, particularly with regards to employment rates and the Youth on the Move flagship initiative. However, the Single European Labour Market is far from being complete and a large number of barriers are still hampering the mobility of EU workers and the EU’s inter-connection with the rest of the world.
