Andrea Frontini is a Policy Analyst in the Europe in the World Programme since April 2015. He joined the EPC as Programme Assistant in February 2012.

Prior to joining, he worked in the (former) Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry at the European Commission in Brussels (2011-2012), at the Secretariat General of the Italian Atlantic Committee in Rome (2010-2011), at the Italian Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels (2010), as well as at the Marketing and Commercial Affairs Division of Finmeccanica Spa in Rome (2007).

Andrea holds both a BA and an MA in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the University of Trieste (Gorizia Campus), an International Exchange Certificate from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) as well as a Postgraduate Degree in International Relations and International Protection of Human Rights from the Italian Society for the International Organisation (SIOI) in Rome.

On 5 and 6 March 2017, Andrea Frontini participated in the 2017 edition of PeaceGame, organised by the 'Foreign Policy' magazine in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The event convened leading thinkers in national security policy, international affairs, academia, business, and media to 'game' out how to bring seemingly intractable conflicts to a peaceful conclusion. This year's theme was 'How a Changing Washington Could Affect Key Middle East Issues'.

On 23 February 2017, the European Policy Centre, in cooperation with the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD), organised an Expert Roundtable on ‘Monitoring radicalisation risks in Central and Southeast Europe: Shaping diagnostic tools for EU policymakers’. The event was chaired by Andrea Frontini, EPC Policy Analyst, and brought together a group of EU officials, practitioners and experts to discuss the parallel challenges of Islamist and right-wing radicalisation across Europe.

Andrea Frontini, Giovanni Grevi and Marco Giuli represented the EPC in the ‘Second EU-Israel Strategic Dialogue’, which took place in Zikhron Ya'akov, Israel, on 30 November-1 December 2016. The Dialogue was organised by the Forum of Strategic Dialogue (FSD), the European Leadership Network (ELNET) and the EPC, with the aim to promote a closed-door, high-level debate between European and Israeli practitioners and specialists on the issue of ‘What Challenges and Opportunities for EU-Israel Cooperation in a Transforming Regional and Global Environment?’.

The two events, which took place in Rome, also provided an opportunity to further disseminate EPC’s recent Issue Paper on ‘EU member states and enlargements towards the Balkans’ among Italian policymakers, experts and the public at large.
