Francesca Fabbri is Junior Policy Analyst in the Europe in the World Programme.

Prior to joining EPC in January 2016, she has been awarded a one year fellowship at the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) (January-December 2015) and she has been a Blue Book trainee at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in the Arabian Peninsula, Iran and Iraq Division (March-July 2014). She has also previously been a Leonardo da Vinci LLP fellow at the European Institute for Research on Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation (MEDEA), a trainee at the Rome office of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) and a MAE-CRUI Programme trainee at the political office of the Italian Embassy in Beirut.

She holds a B.A. in International Relations and an M.A. in International Cooperation with the Middle East both from the University of Bologna and an International Exchange Certificate from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) as well as a Postgraduate Degree in Diplomacy at the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).

EPC welcomes students from the University of Navarra

Katharina Bamberg with Francesca Fabbri welcomed a group of students from the University of Navarra to the EPC, on 23 May. In addition to speaking about EPC’s projects in foreign policy, the discussion focused on the EU’s attempts to tackle the root causes of migration and how development aid and migration management are increasingly interlinked.

Meeting with the Emirates Diplomatic Academy

On 28 March 2017, Andrea Frontini, Amanda Paul and Francesca Fabbri met with a delegation of the Diplomatic Academy of the United Arab Emirates and discussed EPC’s recent project on ‘The Challenge of Jihadist Radicalisation’. On the same day, Andrea Frontini also participated, as a guest speaker, in a dinner discussion with the delegation on the Common Security and Defence Policy.

Water and Euro-Mediterranean Relations
15 April 2016

On 14-15 April, Francesca Fabbri and Andrea Frontini represented the EPC at the EuroMeSCo Annual Conference 2016 on 'Towards a security architecture for the Mediterranean: a challenge for Euro-Mediterranean relations'. They also presented a preliminary draft for a IEMed Paper on water security and diplomacy in the Middle East and Northern Africa and EU's role in that policy field.

ENP review and the broader EU External Action

In April 2016, Francesca Fabbri co-authored a chapter in the 6th Euromed Survey on the review of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and its role in the broader EU External Action for the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed).
