Claire Dhéret is a Senior Policy Analyst at the European Policy Centre where she heads (since September 2016) the Social Europe & Well-being Programme, leads and oversees a number of activities related to EU employment and social policies. Her main analytical expertise cover the following policy areas: labour market policies (in particular youth employment); social investment and the social dimension of the EU; mobility of EU workers; EU regional policies; EU budget; Europe’s industry; social cohesion and well-being; and young people in Europe.

Claire has been working on various research projects, including with the EU institutions, and has been leading several Task Forces and expert groups. Claire provides comments in the media and participates in a range of public debates in and outside of Brussels (either as a speaker or moderator). Claire is also the Programme Leader of FutureLab Europe, a programme aiming to build a network of young Europeans who want to impact the future of Europe though active citizenship. Prior to joining the EPC, she was responsible for the Brussels office of the Robert Schuman Foundation, a French think tank.

Claire Dhéret took part in a conference organised by the Delegation of the EU to Senegal and the Embassy of Italy to Senegal. This event aimed to discuss the future of the European and African continents on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the EU. Claire Dhéret focused her intervention on the role of young people in shaping the future of Europe and highlighted the challenges and opportunities that young people represent for the future of the EU. She also participated in a debate with African students and discussed the similarities and differences that characterise the young generation on each of the two continents.

Open Days 2012
11 October 2012

The EPC played an active role in the organisation of the 2012 Open Days. As partner of the Committee of the Regions, the EPC organised a workshop on 9 October on the role of the Leverage and Multiplier effects of the EU budget in producing synergies among EU financing streams and subnational budgets. Fabian Zuleeg presented the EPC's report on 'Creating synergies among EU, national, and subnational budgets' and participated in a panel discussion alongside the European Commission, the EIB, the CoR and Iain Begg, of the LSE.  Another EPC note written by Claire Dhéret and Andreea Martinovici,  summing up the main findings of the most important recent studies on empirical evidence of multiplier effects, was also distributed at the workshop. The contribution of EPC to the 2012 Open Days represented a good opportunity to showcase its activity in the field of regional policy studies.
