John Wyles joins EPC as chief strategy coordinator

11 February 2010

Brussels, 11 February 2010: The European Policy Centre, an independent think tank committed to making European integration work, is pleased to announce that John Wyles, a former journalist and communications consultant, is stepping up his collaboration with us.

Having been a senior adviser for many years, Wyles will be joining the EPC team to contribute to the Centre’s strategic growth and development, with a particular focus on enhancing services to our more than 400 members. He will also chair the EPC's Governance Forum and moderate other events.

Wyles’ arrival at the EPC marks the end of his eight years as a partner in GPlus Europe, one of Brussels’ leading communication consultancies. His previous career included nearly 20 years with the Financial Times as New York correspondent, Brussels bureau chief, foreign news editor and Rome correspondent. He was also deputy editor of the Italian newspaper L’Indipendente. His consultancy work in Brussels included working with the European Commission between 1996 and 2001 on the design and implementation of the communications strategy for the launch of the euro. He has contributed a fortnightly column to the European Voice since 2004.

“John combines a long and profound experience of European integration with a proven commitment to the EPC. He will be a valuable source of support and advice during the next stage of our development,” said Hans Martens, the EPC’s chief executive.
