Concordia Discors Project

Concordia Discors: Understanding Conflict and Integration Outcomes of Inter-Group Relations and Integration Policies in selected Neighbourhoods of Five European Cities.

The Concordia Discors Project investigated intergroup relations at neighbourhood level, with the aim of producing a deep, strongly empirical-based and directly policy-relevant understanding of integration and conflict processes in the neighbourhoods of European cities.

The project was carried out in selected neighbourhoods of five European cities: London (UK), Barcelona (Spain), Nüremberg (Germany), Torino (Italy) and Budapest (Hungary). In each city, two neighbourhoods have been selected on the basis of a combination of quantitative and qualitative criteria.

FIERI of Torino, efms of Bamberg, GRM-UAB of Barcelona, COMPAS of Oxford and TARKI of Budapest conducted the research in the target cities. FIERI was the Project Coordinator, responsible for the scientific coordination and overall management of the project.

The research results and policy outcomes of Concordia Discors were presented at a final conference held in Brussels, organised by the EPC, with the participation of scholars, decision-makers from the EU, national and local levels, and representatives of civil society organisations.

FIERI is the Project Coordinator, responsible for the scientific coordination and overall management of the project.
